Imagine being at the top of the world!
On Saturday August 17th, I was.
I was scared and thrilled at the same time. I met a thirteen year old and a ninety year old, both celebrating their birthdays, by experiencing the EdgeWalk….and they were not scared, so I was not scared either! I was sure they were both plants for psychological effect.
It is the world’s highest full circle hands-free walk on a 5 ft. (1.5 m) wide ledge encircling the top of the Tower’s main pod, 356m/1168ft (116 storeys) above the ground. We walked in a group of six, while attached to an overhead safety rail via a trolley and harness system. Our guide was encouraging, knowledgeable and fun! We leaned back over Toronto with nothing but air and breathtaking views of Lake Ontario beneath us.
EdgeWalk took about 1.5 hours, with the outdoor walk lasting approximately 30 minutes. Yes, I even received a certificate of achievement to prove it.
